MTV Video Music Awards 2011: Adele e Katy Perry le più candidate, male per Lady GaGa

Che il 2011 NON sia l'anno di Lady GaGa, si era capito già dall'uscita di "Born This Way".
Il singolo aveva fatto il suo dovere nelle charts, grazie alla propaganda della cantante e alla sua posizione ormai di artista del momento, ma a livello qualitativo molti sono stati i delusi. Poi con il flop di "Judas" e il singolo ex-promo "The Edge of Glory" si ha avuto la sensazione che si stesse un po tappando i buchi. 
Tranquilla è invece l'ascesa di Katy Perry che, senza promesse utopiche a differenza della collega menzionata su, sforna un singolo di successo dopo l'altro con tanto di video super visionato su YouTube. 
Ma la star dell'anno non è una "cantante" danzereccia o mondana, tutt'altro: direttamente dall'Inghilterra, la prorompente Adele sta conquistando il mondo, USA compresi, con la sua voce e il magnifico album 21. Il primo singolo "Rolling In the Deep" acclamato dalla critica, continua a vendere ed è ormai chiaro che sia la canzone dell'anno. Benché il video correlato non sia epico (a detta stessa di Adele in quanto non le interessa molto produrre video ma dedicarsi solo alla musica), la commissione di MTV non poteva rimanere impassibile di fronte al successo della stagione e ha così deciso di nominare il video tra i migliori dell'anno.
Tra i più nominati del 2011 ai Video Music Awards abbiamo quindi Katy Perry con 9 nominations tra cui Video dell'anno e Miglior Video Femminile per "Fireworks" e Miglior Video Pop per "Last Friday Night", e Adele con 7 nominations e tutte per "Rolling in The Deep". 
Delusione anche per Beyoncé che con il singolo flop "Run the World (Girls)" e il video che ha peggiorato le sue condizioni nelle charts, si deve accontentare di appena 3 nominations, così come anche Lady GaGa.
Totalmente esclusa Rihanna invece, che con i suoi singoli tutti piazzati in top ten viene però snobbata clamorosamente, ed è presente solo grazie alla collaborazione con Kanye West e a quella con Eminem, nominati entrambi come Miglior Video Maschile insieme a Bruno Mars e Justin Bieber (???).
E Britney Spears? Il flop di Femme Fatale si avverte ormai da mesi, e MTV se n'è accorta tanto da assegnarle un paio di nomine giusto come contentino.
Il 28 Agosto ci sarà il responso e scopriremo chi saranno i vincitori: forse Katy Perry riuscirà ad acciuffare qualcosa, ricordando l'anno scorso quando GaGa fece piazza pulita con ben 8 premi su 13 nominations.
